Excelian at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games

With strong London roots in the Olympic ‘Silicon’ zone and a proud multi-national workforce, Excelian is delighted to have a direct link with   the biggest event in the world: the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games.

That link comes through our role as official followers of OurTeam2012, a fundraising programme designed to provide Team GB athletes   with the tools and support they need to reach their full potential at the Games.

As followers of OurTeam2012, we have been able to award some of our highest achieving staff Olympic tickets for themselves and their   partners to see the Basketball, Hockey, Rowing, Athletics, Canoe and Handball matches – and even Beach Volleyball. We have also made   new athlete friends and tried our hands at some new sports. Staff have met some of the faces working hard with the atheletes, including   Tim Hollingsworth, Chief Operating Officer of UK Sport and Dr Mike Loosemore, lead physician at the English Institute of Sport. We’ve met   Anthony Ogogo (boxing) and Steven Palmer (wheelchair rugby) and were delighted to welcome rower and Olympic hopeful Sophie   Hosking   to our Christmas 2011 staff party. Our membership was featured in the Evening Standard and on business TV where Director of   Communications Sue Primmer found herself in conversation with Sir Matthew Pinsent.

Our own staff Games ambassadors have been to the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield; taken part in Archery trials at Lords Cricket   Ground; attended a House of Lords Reception; and are about to find out what the Olympic sport of ‘Boccia’ might entail. And we’re looking   forward to some interesting internal rivalry, as staff root for their home teams from no less than 26 countries including Australia, Belgium,   Cameroon, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Irish Republic, Italy, Lithuania, New Zealand, Pakistan, Poland,   Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey and Zimbabwe – and of course Great Britain!

We wish all the athletes, officials, volunteers and viewers of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games every success.
